Machine Readable Passport
Ever since the installation of Machine Readable Passport
(MRP) facility at the High Commission in London, issuance of manual passports
has been phased out. MRP
office operates on the principal of live data capturing so applicants’
presence (with required documents) is compulsory to process the application. Applicants'
data entry, photo, signature and thumb impression capturing are done by trained
MRP staff using latest technology. Applicants DO NOT need any application forms or
photographs for MRP applications as it is done by MRP staff during application
process. Applicants DO NOT require any prior appointment for
MRP application. They will be entertained on first come first served basis
during application processing time.

Married female applicants are required to produce original CNIC
/ NICOP containing their husband’s name. They
would otherwise be asked to initiate the revision of their CNIC

employees are required to produce original fresh No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by their respective Ministries / Divisions /
Departments. For Children below 18 Years a.

Additional requirement for Dual Nationals Dual Nationals are required to bring a photocopy of their British
Passport as well along with all other required documents. Lost Passports In case of Lost Passport, the applicant needs to
produce:

photocopy of his/her Lost Passport
ii.
Police
Report containing Lost Passport No.
iii.
Original
valid CNIC / NICOP with its
photocopy
iv.
Copy
of valid UK visa Note: In case of a lost passport application, MRP shall only be delivered
after the verification of the previous MRP/Manual passport from the concerned
issuing authority in Pakistan or Abroad, which may take a month or longer. MRP Fee* with effect from 1st January 2012

surcharge per application for consular services being charged at Pakistan High
Commission in London and its Consulates in other cities. Machine Readable Passport
(MRP) Office Timings
Note: MRP office timings may vary during the Holy month of Ramadan MRP Collection Machine Readable Passport contains very important
information about its holder. Keeping in view the MRP’s
importance as a prime identity document and to protect the applicants’
personal information, MRP office DO NOT despatches passports through postal
services. Applicants need to collect their passports in person from MRP Office at
High Commission for Pakistan. However, to facilitate the families, in case of
more than one family members’ passports need to be collected, only one
family member can come to collect the MRPs issued for
all his / her family members. MRPs can be
collected from our office between 1600 to 1700 hours from Monday to Friday
except public/announced holidays.
Child Endorsement on MRP Machine Readable Passport (MRP) is issued in conformity with International Civil Aviation
Organization (ICAO) standards.
According to the ICAO standards child endorsement is not allowed on parent’s passport.
Therefore child endorsement will not be done on the parents’ machine
readable passport. Instead of this; children (even under 18 years) will be
issued a separate Machine Readable Passport (MRP) Validity of Machine
