Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, held meetings with Pakistan-origin British MPs Mohammad Yasin, Tahir Ali, Imran Hussain, Ayoub Khan and Adnan Hussain.



DPM/FM highlighted the deep-rooted historical and cultural ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, which have been further strengthened by the presence of a vibrant and significant Pakistani diaspora in the UK. He highlighted the diaspora's role as a bridge between the two nations, fostering mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connections.


 
DPM/FM emphasized that Pakistan attaches great importance on bilateral parliamentary exchanges to strengthen bilateral relations. He underlined that such exchanges allows for the sharing of democratic experiences, international best practices, and democratic values, which are essential for the growth and stability of democratic institutions in both countries.


 
The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister also expressed his appreciation for the active role played by British Members of Parliament in raising awareness about the human rights violations and atrocities occurring in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He commended their efforts in bringing these issues to the forefront of discussions in the UK Parliament and in educating the British public about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.
