Pakistan High Commission, London held a ceremony to celebrate resumption of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) flight operations to the United Kingdom.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials from Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Station Manager and staff of PIA UK, prominent British – Pakistani businessmen, celebrities and a large number of Pakistani diaspora in UK.
High Commissioner of Pakistan to UK, Dr. Mohammad Faisal said that this milestone will bring major economic benefits; generating substantial revenue, boosting trade and tourism and expanding the movement of people and goods. Each flight will carry not only passengers, but new opportunities, linking lives, ideas and futures across continents, remarked the High Commissioner.
Dr. Mohammad Faisal paid special tribute to the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan, whose leadership and vision were instrumental in ensuring that PIA’s credibility was restored and its return to British skies made possible. He also thanked the dedicated teams at the Civil Aviation Authority, the Ministry of Aviation and PIA’s leadership and staff, for their perseverance and professionalism. The High Commissioner appreciated the cooperation and technical collaboration extended by the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority and the UK government.
Earlier, PIA’s Station Manager Ms. Nadia apprised that PIA’s will operate two direct flights weekly, between Islamabad & Manchester, starting from 25th October, 2025.
