The Pakistan High Commission, London organized a networking event and panel discussion titled, 'Beyond Borders: Investing in Pakistani Entrepreneurial Talent.' The Minister (Economic), Dr. Samina Taslim, in her introductory remarks stated that the Pakistan High Commission was making concerted and coordinated efforts towards strengthening and deepening the sustainable collaboration between entrepreneurs from Pakistan and UK, to attract mutually profitable investments.
The event kicked off with a panel discussion, in which a large number of leading entrepreneurs and professionals participated. The panellists and participants engaged in meaningful and substantive discussions on a wide range of topics, including the participation of women in enterprises and strategies, to efficiently utilize AI in businesses, IT solutions for improving health and education services, facilitation by the government for increasing foreign currency earnings by IT service providers and collaboration between Pakistani and UK based companies.
The entrepreneurs who participated in the event included Ms. Tram Anh Nguyen, co-founder of CFTE, a global impact platform for education in Fintech and the future of financial services; Mr. Shahid Azeem High Sheriff of Surrey & Managing Director of folio3, a full service digital & software company that partners with IT companies including Microsoft, Amazon & Oracle; Ms. Rabia Khan, Principal Epidemiologist in the Data Analytics and Surveillance Division at UK Health Security Agency; Mr. Robin Butler, Partner in Sturgeon Capital, an investment company that helps leading technology companies in countries early into their digital transition; young entrepreneurs and Pakistani friends in UK.
While welcoming the entrepreneurs, High Commissioner of Pakistan, Dr. Mohammad Faisal emphasized that Pakistan was a country blessed with significant resources. The talented and motivated Pakistani youth were a great asset that offered huge potential for economic development in innovative areas of AI, health and financial technology. He added that Pakistani youth in IT sector had proved their mettle by developing service applications for world renowned software companies and were earning foreign exchange and accolades for the country.
The High Commissioner pointed out that concerted efforts were required to attract investments into Pakistan. He said that Public & Private sectors must collaborate to achieve beneficial economic dividends. He invited the young entrepreneurs to form a representative body for professional collaboration. He assured that the High Commission would facilitate them in networking with UK based companies, so that mutually beneficial enterprises could be established in Pakistan.
