*Pakistan High Commission London hosts Tech Summit*



London, June 14, 2025 - The Pakistan High Commission in London hosted a significant event on the fourth day of London Tech Week 2025, underscoring Pakistan’s contributions to the global digital economy.

The UK government’s Trade Envoy to Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Yasin, was the guest of honour at the event which convened distinguished representatives from Pakistan’s IT sector, UK government officials, and international stakeholders to explore collaborative opportunities between Pakistan and the UK.



In her welcoming address, Dr. Samina Zehra, the Economic Minister at the Pakistan High Commission in London, underscored the paramount importance of deepening Pakistan-UK cooperation within the IT sector. She emphasised that Pakistan’s digital economy is experiencing substantial growth, with young entrepreneurs, professionals, and policymakers driving Pakistan’s economic trajectory through innovative approaches, inclusive practices, and global collaboration. In his keynote speech, the UK Trade Envoy to Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Yasin, reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to strengthening bilateral trade and supporting Pakistan’s integration into global technology value chains. He stated, “It is encouraging to observe the convergence of government representatives, diaspora leaders, investors, and businesses to highlight Pakistan’s growing role in the digital economy. This event will facilitate meaningful connections and promote enhanced collaboration between the UK and Pakistan.”



Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), Mr. Sajjad Syed, and the CEO of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Mr. Abu Bakar, delivered impactful presentations on unlocking Pakistan’s global technology potential and the evolution of its digital ecosystem. The event featured two dynamic panel discussions. The first, titled “Tech Diplomacy and Investment: The Case for Pakistan’s Digital Economy,” was moderated by Murad Sayed and included contributions from Ilyas Khan, Dr. Samina Zehra, Alia Zafar, Fauzia Idrees, Asim Khwaja, and Umer Suleman. These panelists explored how strategic partnerships, diplomacy, and investment can accelerate Pakistan’s digital growth. The second discussion, “Redefining Pakistan’s Global Tech Image: Women-Driven Tech Export,” was moderated by Alina Timofeeva and brought together Hassan Raja, Zahra Shah, Sana Wahid, Zeba Qureshi, Reedah El Saie, and Dr. Khalid Mahmood. These panelists discussed the transformative role of women in technology and how they are reshaping Pakistan’s global image in digital innovation and exports.



A large number of students, tech entrepreneurs, and professionals participated in the event, making it a proud moment for Pakistan’s technology leadership on a global stage. The event not only showcased Pakistan’s digital strengths but also reaffirmed its commitment to global innovation and economic transformation through technology.
