
A dignified and solemn ceremony was arranged at Pakistan High Commission, London to confer Civil Awards upon overseas Pakistanis in UK. The ceremony was attended by award recipients with families, officers of the High Commission, prominent members of Pakistani community and media representatives.
On behalf of the President of Pakistan, the Acting High Commissioner Mr. Haseeb Bin Aziz conferred the following awards :-
Sitare-i-Imtiaz to Mr. Fukhera (Frank) Khalid for his services in the field of business and entrepreneurship. Mr. Frank Khalid is a distinguished UK based businessman and entrepreneur. His businesses include retail, restaurants and a film studio. Mr. Khalid also has wide investments in Pakistan and is a generous philanthropist supporting charities that work in Pakistan.
Tamgha-i-Imtiaz to Dr. Irfan Malik for his services in the field of Neurosurgery (Spine). Dr. Irfan Malik is a distinguished Pakistani Neurosurgeon at the Kings College Hospital, London and specializes in Complex spine surgery, Endoscopic spine surgery, Epilepsy surgery and Minimally invasive spine surgery. He has performed the highest number of endoscopic spine surgeries in the UK. Dr. Malik is also a dedicated educator and is associated with numerous healthcare charities that have actively contributed to welfare of Pakistan during needful times.
Mr. Frank Khalid and Dr. Irfan Malik in their remarks thanked the Government of Pakistan for recognizing their services and expressed the commitment for further strengthening people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
