Smart National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis or SNICOP is issued to facilitate the expatriate Pakistanis. This card is an identification document usable in place of Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) or Shanakhti_Card

Benefits of SNICOP

  • Visa free entry into Pakistan (without Pakistani Passport or Visa to visit Pakistan)
  • Cast vote as a Pakistani national
  • Protection rights that all Pakistanis enjoy
  • Full recognition as a regular Pakistani citizen
  • Open bank account in Pakistan
  • Apply for Machine Readable Passport (MRP)
  • Substitute for the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC)
  • Proof of Pakistan citizenship
  • Permission to buy and sell property

You can apply for SNICOP if you are a Pakistani citizen and fall in one of the following categories:

  1. An emigrant or employed abroad
  2. A dual nationality holder. Click here to view the list of countries with whom Government of Pakistan has dual nationality arrangement (when new page opens please scroll down to "Dual Nationality" heading)
  3. Holding a resident or immigrant visa or equivalent visa / authorization, permit or status of a foreign country.
  4. A resident or Intending to Reside Abroad for a period exceeding six (6) months and not included in any of the categories defined in a, b and c above. Following persons are also included in this category.
  5. Dependent: Dependents of emigrants / workers employed abroad / accompanying them abroad.
  6. OPF Members: Members of OPF (Overseas Pakistanis Foundation) are also included in this category.
  7. Others: All other persons proceeding or residing abroad for business, visit or any other purpose.
