Community Welfare Division

The post of the Community Welfare Attache' was abolished at the High Commission, London in May 2014. Since then, the Consular Officer at the High Commission is performing the duties of the Community Welfare department and is the designated focal person for the Consular, Community and Education related matters.

The list of services provided by this section includes:

  1. Property cases of overseas Pakistanis, including illegal occupation of land.
  2. Issuance of Police clearance/character certificates.
  3. Service of summons issued from various courts of Pakistan.
  4. Issuance of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation membership cards.
  5. Help and facilities destitute Pakistanis.
  6. Assistance to the Pakistani prisoners/detainees. Close coordination with UKBA and Prisoner authorities to solve issues of Pakistani Prisoners, including regular prison visits.
  7. Free transportation of dead bodies to Pakistan.
  8. Misc. issues e.g. Security threats, Murder / Robbery relating to Pakistan.
  9. Resolution of complaints of overseas Pakistanis.
  10. Education related matters including welfare and guidance of Pakistani students in the UK, liaison with Higher Education Commission (HEC), processing of HEC Scholars stipends, conduct examinations at Mission, verification of degrees and engagement with UK educational institutions/societies.
  11. Acts as Arbitration Council in cases of divorce, registration of divorces in relevant Union Councils in Pakistan.
