Appeal for Relief Assistance to the Flood Victims in
Pakistan
Pakistan has suffered from an unprecedented catastrophe caused by heavy
rainfall and floods across the country. The natural disaster has taken its toll
on over 1500 lives, while 2.5 million are estimated to be displaced. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
is worst hit region. The UN and other countries, including the United Kingdom, have pledged
financial help and a number of NGOs are at work to provide relief to the affected
people. However, given the scale of calamity Pakistani Diaspora across the
world have been appealed to extend a helping hand to their countrymen in their
difficult times. The High Commission for Pakistan, London, also appeals to the Pakistani
Community and British nationals of Pakistani heritage in the UK to generously
donate to help the flood victims. For the purpose following account has been
opened in all United National Bank’s branches, deposits of which would be
sent to the Government.
The focal person at the High Commission would be Mr. Shahid Ali Baig,
