Pakistan delegation attends World Technology event in Excel London

 

London: A 14-member delegation of Pakistan IT industry and some environmentalists led by Mr. Mohammad Aslam Khan, participated in World Technology Fair organized by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) from 16 to 17 November, 2011 in Excel London and explored trade and investment opportunities for Pakistan with the global players in the field of IT and environment.

 

Today the delegation called on Pakistan High Commissioner for UK, Mr. Wajid Shamsul Hasan and gave him an update on the latest developments in the above-mentioned fields. The delegation termed their participation in the Fair an opportunity for increased business with the UK.

 

During the meeting various trade related topics were discussed including the possibility of visit of an IT delegation from Pakistan to the UK.  The importance of Internet World, and IT Trade Fair to be held in London from 24-26 April, 2012 was also highlighted by the delegation. The High Commission would send their recommendations to Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, the delegation was assured.

 

The High Commissioner appreciated the initiative of the IT companies for their participation in the World Technology 2011.   One of the delegates, Dr. Sami-uz-Zaman, CEO, GEL Private Limited, the first Environmental Laboratory established in Pakistan, also discussed various water treatment reforms in the country.   Dr. Sami-uz-Zaman also informed the High
Commissioner about signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the UK
company for a Solar and Thermal project which would be used for water treatment.

 

Mr. Muhammad Zohaib Khan from A2Z Creatorz, one of the leading IT Companies in Pakistan underlined the importance of the promulgation of Data Protection Act in Pakistan for the credibility of Pakistani IT industries on the international level.

 

Mr. Abdul Razzaq Sangani, Managing Director, Tajs West Coast, who is already working with UK companies, informed the High Commissioner about their work on passive fire protection in Pakistan using the most up-to-date modern technology for fire hazards in Pakistan.
