APWA (UK) intensifies its flood relief efforts

 

London: All Pakistan Women’s Association UK (APWA-UK) announced donation of 55,000 blankets, tents and clothes with the collaboration of Actions for Change (AfC), a UK-based charity.

 

First consignment of this humanitarian contribution was handed over at Humanity First Warehouse for PIA Cargo on August 24 for transportation to Pakistan. Mrs Zarina Wajid Hasan, Mrs Shaheda Khan, General Secretary APWA UK and Raja Akbar, General Manager of Humanity First were present on the occasion.

 

APWA (UK) is also participating in raising funds and other relief items in collaboration with other charities through a series of functions to help the flood victims in Pakistan.

 

Chairperson of APWA(UK) Mrs Hasan has thanked all APWA member and others who have joined hands in making a huge success of their flood relief campaign for the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.

 

Earlier on August 7 in response to an appeal by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman Pakistan People’s Party, to raise funds and relief goods for the alleviation of the untold sufferings of millions of Pakistani flood victims, members of APWA (UK) under the Chairperson Mrs Zarina Wajid Hasan presented a cheque of £5000/- to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
