Pakistan's exports to UK maintain upward trend

 

The latest figures released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics and complied by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, show that during the period July 2009– January 2010 exports from Pakistan to the United Kingdom amounted to £683 Million which has increased by 18.19% as compared to the same period in 2008-2009.

 

During the period July 2009- January 10 the commodities which show significant export growth from Pakistan to the UK are listed below:

 

§  Feed stuff for animals 13000%

§  Carpets Knott 1333%

§  Animal hair 483%

§  Raw wool 726%

§  Leguminous vegetable 250%

§  Cotton Yarn 83%

§  Animal hair 483%

§  Bed wear 54%

§  Ready made garments 20%

§  Rice basmati 18%

§  Towels 17%

 

Besides bed wear and towels, some new Pakistani products have found a market in the UK. The trade figure shows that UK continues to be one of Pakistan’s top five export destinations.
