Earthquake hits Baluchistan
A strong earthquake hit parts of Baluchistan
on 29 October. According to reports, 200
people have lost their lives and 40,000 rendered homeless and widespread damage
caused to property.
A major relief effort has been mounted by the
Federal and Provincial governments. Rescue teams comprising the Army, the
Frontier Crops and Army Medical Corps are engaged in providing relief in the
earthquake affected areas.
The Government of Pakistan has opened separate bank
accounts for the voluntary contribution of the community members for the relief
of earthquake victims of Baluchistan. Following
